Not a bad phone

Author's Rating: 3/5 stars

Pros: Durable, very easy to use, windows based

Cons: poor sound quality, bulky and heavy, can run slow

The Bottom Line:
Great if you need it as a PDA, but wireless sync email can be a pain

Author's Review
I bought this phone in August 2006 when I switched from Sprint to Verizon.

I purchased this phone because my job required me to have email access while on the road. I have to say that I should have bought the blackberry as I guess a lot of companies have a license for their software to "push" the emails from the server to the phone. The only way I was able to get my mail was to have the computer on, email up and running and wireless sync. Not very convenient if you ask me. I liked that it had windows and MS Word, Excel and such as a lot of my emails contained attachments that I would need to open on the road. Another plus is it is very durable! I have dropped this phone SO many times, and even if the battery popped out, or it got banged up, it always started right back up and I am surprised the screen has no scratches on it! I just throw it in my purse or bag along with keys and other things and it has held up so well. I really like the camera and the slot for a memory card, I just transfer the pictures to the card and put them on my home computer!

A few cons- first, I had to have the phone replaced 3/07 because the "A" key stopped working. I do have to say Verizon was great about replacing the phone, no questions asked! Secondly, sometimes when you press the button to take the phone out of "sleep" nothing happens, it seems to have crashed. This happens about once every few months and the only way to correct the problem is to reboot. Third, the phone is rather bulky, but I did know this when I purchased it, but since then, phones are so much slimmer! Fourth, this may be just me, but I feel like the sound quality is really poor. I am constantly having to say "what?" and "huh?" when speaking to someone as it tends to be very garbled. This is not good when you conduct a lot of business over your cell phone!

All in all this wasn't a bad phone when it first came out, but I certainly wouldn't buy it now and I can't wait to replace it!
